Escape Room Birthday Party

Ever thought of celebrating your birthday in an escape room? You definitely need to try it, because you will have an amazing experience! With over 300 tried and tested escape rooms behind me, believe me when I say it’s worth a try. Most places will even treat you special if you let them know you’re having an escape room birthday party. It’s important to choose the right room, because if you choose a room that’s too difficult or even too scary, it can ruin the experience.

Here’s some advice on where to spend your birthday party:

#1. Atlantis Rising – PanIQ Escape Room

A special story with a special setting. I think everyone has wondered what the city of Atlantis was like. Ingenious puzzles take you to the entrance of the city, which open to reveal a fabulous view. An amazing array of technical innovations are used to make you feel like you’re really in the city lost in the sea.

This escape room is especially good for a birthday party, because the puzzles can be solved in any order. That way, everyone in the group can play and you don’t have to wait for one or two people to solve their puzzle. The ending is a challenge, but when you figure it out you’ll be blown away :D. It will be a real party atmosphere at the end!

#2. The Wizard Trials – PanIQ Escape Room

This is the room we tried out with the team for my birthday. I must say it was one of the best birthday parties I’ve ever had. I recommend it to all ages (10+) because of the difficulty of the puzzles and the story. There is no linearity in solving the puzzles here either, so everyone can let their imagination run wild and immerse themselves in the best Harry Potter escape room ever.

The story is that you have to beat an evil wizard to find the recipe of eternal life. A special highlight is that you actually get a magic wand to use to solve the puzzles. Because of the size and accessibility of the room, someone in a wheelchair can join the birthday party!) One of the best parts is at the end when the whole team poses for a photo holding one of the props. You will have enchanting photos to remember your special day. It will be a truly magical party, I can guarantee it!

#3. The Red Wire – PanIQ Escape Room

Who wouldn’t want to be a secret agent on their birthday and save the world from the bad guys? There are so many different kinds of props in this escape room, you can’t resist having some fun with them! Number one escape room, if you ask me! The puzzles are mixed, from easy to hard difficulties. So I’m sure all members of the team will enjoy it regardless of age or experience.

A special highlight is that one of the chambers in the escape room is made to look like a street. A great opportunity to take some photos here at the end, so your friends think you spent your birthday party on the streets of London. On their website they list it as one of the easier rooms, but you don’t need a harder room for a birthday surprise party.

#4. Wild West – PanIQ Escape Room

  • Location: Houston
  • Prices: $32-$36, depending on public or private game
  • Genre: family-friendly escape room, funny
  • Players: 2-7

Welcome to the Wild West! This is the escape room where you’ll laugh your way through your birthday party. Better than going to a stand-up comedy show. Recommended for kids, teenagers and even adults. With a more relaxed, laid-back vibe you can let loose and enjoy the game. The decor is captivating…it’s like you’ve really stepped into a wild western tavern. Great for party photos!

The size of the space is totally adequate for a large group. You’re not cramped. Puzzles will surprise you. Trust me (spoiler alert: watch out for the spitting deer!). This room feels like a combination of The Man With No Name and Wild Wild West. Need I say more?

#5. Cartel Crackdown – PanIQ Escape Room

Last but not least, here’s an escape room with a really tough story. The year is 1989. You’ve been on the trail of “El Alto”, leader of the most powerful drug cartel the world has ever seen, for years now with almost nothing to show for it. Need more? Drugs, money, mafia and corrupt police. A true story for an adult escape room birthday party.

Sophisticated puzzles, clever escape room clues and pure suspense. It is recommended to come to this room with a team of at least 3 people or the story of “El Alto” might break you. Not to worry, this room is also mixed with easier and harder puzzles. All in all though, the PanIQ guys classify it as a difficult room. To make your birthday party the best it can be, plan ahead for the big day. Here are some tips.

Tips for escape rooms (for the best escape room birthday party experience):

  1. Be sure to mention that it’s a birthday party when booking.
  2. Arrive on time. 10-15 minutes before the start is perfect.
  3. If you have a birthday present, bring it 5 minutes before everyone else, so  the game master has time to hide it for you!
  4. Arrive sober, it’s no fun in an escape room if you can’t concentrate.
  5. Tell the game master who the birthday guest of honor is. They will get extra attention!
  6. Be sure to ask to take some pictures of the group at the end of the game.
  7. Look ahead for a place to go after the escape room to continue the party.
